Virtual Puppy Classes
Our Live Virtual Puppy classes are meant for the youngest puppies, allowing them to learn in the safety of their own homes.
To our knowledge we are the only trainers in all of NYC offering this service to new puppy owners. The best part is you don’t have to live near us to take these classes!!
Has your veterinarian recommended that you not take your puppy to group class until they have all their shots?
Have you read that early socialization is critical to raising a happy and behaviorally healthy pup?

And last but not least:
A list of socialization strategies that vets can approve of…
Because dogs are primed to fear novelty after the socialization period closes at 12 -14 weeks, we have found substitutions and workarounds that have proven successful in allowing the youngest puppies to get developmentally appropriate experiences and learn important behaviors they will need when they are ready to hit the streets.
Puppy classes with PumpkinPups are structured to offer an important behavioral inoculation that can save dogs and their owners from problems like reactivity and aggression that may appear during adolescence and in the worst case lead to behavioral euthanasia later in life.
Safe Socialization Strategies:
Keeping windows open in the home so the puppies hear outdoor noises.
Playing games with the puppy in the family car and taking the puppy for short rides to get used to being in a car and all that that entails.
Having human visitors of various ages come to play with the puppy.
Playdates with fully vaccinated older puppies and adult dogs in the puppy’s home.Sitting on an upper stoop with puppies away from other dogs and feeding them treats as they experience other dogs, humans, cars, trucks etc. go by.
Carrying small dogs in a bag when running errands.
Putting bigger breed puppies in a stroller or shopping cart to take a walk around the block to smell the smells and hear the sounds they need to be comfortable with every day of their lives.
For outdoor house training - carrying a puppy outside to a designated area of sidewalk that’s been sprayed with a 10% bleach solution where a large pee pad is laid down for the puppy to stand on to eliminate.
