Viviane Arzoumanian, Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT).
Giving puppies a solid foundation of early and appropriate socialization and training, acts as an "inoculation" against the development of serious behavior difficulties as dogs mature. That same process gives owners the tools they will use for a lifetime, to problem solve and work with their companions as they grow and change.
When dogs develop problem behaviors, solutions are often multifaceted and always tailored to meet the needs of the entire household. A comprehensive training or behavior modification program includes consideration of health, exercise, nutrition, and living environment, all of which can affect behavior.
Most problems (from the need for good manners to various types of aggression) can be substantially improved with a consistent and positive training program. No dog is too young to start learning the basics and no dog is too old to learn better habits.
My interest in and education as a dog professional started as a specialty groomer. I still groom a small number of dogs, and teach interested owners how to groom their own companion animals.
When not working with dogs, gardening and quilting gets squeezed in. Our dog family includes 8 year old Shadow, a Standard Poodle and 3 year old Toby, a Silky Terrier rescue who came to live with us in 2006.
